34 RACEWAY

TRACK SPECIFICATIONS:

Track Distance: 3/8 mile
Track Banking: 8 degrees
34 RACEWAY OVERVIEW:
34 Raceway is a rectangular shaped track with 8 degrees of banking and is 3/8 of mile long. This track is probably one of the most difficult to maintain consistancy on because the fastest way through the corners is throwing the car into the sharp corners and using the brakes to force the car to take a set.
DRIVING TIPS:

The key to getting consistant at 34 is learning to be smooth and controlled with the throttle and the steering input. You must be able to quickly get the car turning at the apex of the corner, tap the brakes and ease into the throttle to get the car to take its set at roughly 45 degress. But before doing this you must have got off the throttle just before the last light pole on the straight away and tap your brakes. Once you have lifted off the throttle get your Left Front wheel into the darker loose dirt on the inside. This will cause the car to rotate slightly (oversteer) once you apply the throttle.

Once the car has taken its set, continue to apply more throttle keeping the car in a controlled slide. You will need to diamond the center of the corner(see inset) where you will start to apply reverse steering lock. And may have to ease on and off the throttle to keep from going too far!

You now will set the car up to hit the apex of the next corner. If you have controlled your car properly you may be able to hit the inside dirt at wide open throttle exit very quickly onto the back straight. Usually you will have to reverse steer a little to get straightened out.

Repeat this procedure for the next set of corners and you have completed a lap. The key is developing a rhythm, through very smooth and controlled throttle and steering inputs.

34 RACEWAY SETUP:

The setup that I have included was done with dry wet of 50% and it will oversteer slightly. But it should give you consistant 15 second laps for the entire race.It is meant for shorter heat races and harder compound tires will be required for longer races. The handling characteristics will change if you use harder compound tires until they have got worn and up to temperature. Use the tire wear option in the setup in order to turn this feature on. Tires will gradually go from green to red as they wear! Wet tracks will cause the car too tighten up so softer compounds should be used to compensate and harder tires for dry tracks.

I was able to consistantly get in the 15.50's with this setup and ran a best of 15.42 offline and have got a 15.38 online.

SETUP TIPS

Use more rear gear to compensate for wet tracks and less for dry ones. If 50% gear is 4.20, use 4.50 for very wet and 3.90 for very dry.

If car is loose reduce Right Rear tire size, if the car is tight increase Right Rear tire size. Loose at 30 inches on RR drop to 29 inches. Tight at 28 inches on RR up size to 29 inches. What you are doing is changing the stagger.
